چکیده
Abstract Dynamic contact and impact problems are widely applicable. An accurate solution method for these kinds of can be used in many fields mechanical engineering (e.g., cutting metalwork, cogwheel drives, etc.). However, the proper handling is problematic, as there emerges a substantial amount nonlinearity displacement field. Therefore, spurious high frequency oscillation present solution. These oscillations must avoided, divergence easily occur algorithm due to them. In order eliminate this effect, applied numerical chosen set properly. study, comprehensive guide provided appropriate selection its parameters.

Fractional Time-Stepping Methods for Unsteady Flow Problems
We study accuracy of fractional time-stepping (FTS) methods such as the alternating direction implicit method for the computation of heat ows and the velocity-pressure splitting methods for Navier-Stokes ows. The FTS techniques can be viewed as a perturbation of conventional temporal-spatial discretization schemes; they in theory invoke a perturbation error that is on the same order as the disc...

Analysis of time-stepping methods for the monodomain model
To a large extent, the stiffness of the bidomain and monodomain models depends on the choice of the ionic model, which varies in terms of complexity and realism. In this paper, we compare and analyze a variety of time-stepping methods: explicit or semi-implicit, operator splitting, exponential, and deferred correction methods. We compare these methods for solving the bidomain model coupled with...
متن کاملDGTD methods using modal basis functions and symplectic local time-stepping: application to wave propagation problems
The Discontinuous Galerkin Time Domain (DGTD) methods are now widely used for the solution of wave propagation problems. Able to deal with unstructured meshes past complex geometries, they remain fully explicit with easy parallelization and extension to high orders of accuracy. Still, modal or nodal local basis functions have to be chosen carefully to obtain actual numerical accuracy. Concernin...
متن کاملSymplectic Time-Stepping for Particle Methods
This paper surveys some of the fundamental properties of symplectic integration schemes for classical mechanics and particle methods in particular. The widely used Störmer-Verlet method is discussed in detail and implications of conservation of symplecticity on long term simulations are outlined. The second part of the paper describes the application of a Lagrangian particle method and the Stör...
